I'm a gambling fool.

I love gambling. In fact, if it weren't for Margot I'd probably live in a cardboard box and hit the races every week with my social security and welfare check!

We went to see horse racing when we were in Houston last and it was quite spectacular. It really just seemed like a game of odds and there weren't many upsets.

You don't have to go to the horse tracks anymore! You can now watch them and bid on them through xpressbet.com. They offer free membership and no monthly fee or per wager fee.

Just if I were good at gambling...

Maybe in my next life!

Cheap cars!

We were just talking the other day about probably having to break down and buy a new car in the next few years. Margot seems to think that our good ole' 2000 Honda CRV with close to 125,000 miles is going to run forever.

We might want to check out used cars for sale in Chicago! God knows that SUVs and other good snow cars are way over priced up here in Upstate New York because our selection is so limited.

More than likely it would pay for us to go somewhere else to find a new SUV or minivan and get a good deal. PublicAutoAuctionnst.com offers some great deals on cars and SUVs. Many of them have low mileage and are in great shape!

Chicago public auto auctions are open to the public. This is the one chance that you can get the same deals as car deals get at those low bidding auctions!

Cut out the middle man and go with the professionals who know their cars!

Look no further - check out Chicago Public Auto Auction today!

Busted with paintball!

When I was in high school a few friends and me went to the local paintball course and it was all out war! We had an amazing time and I ended up with a few nice bruises. One of my friends got nailed with a paintball right between her goggles and ended up with a bruise on her head!

It was retaliation at it's best and we went back a couple of times before we went off to college.

Paintball is a huge sport here in upstate New York. We used to have a paintball store but it went out of business.

I'm sure locals are probably going online to buy all of their paintball supplies, paintball gear, and paintball guns.

PntBall.com offers anything and everything you could ever want when playing paintball.

If I ever decide to go out again and play I'm going to want the best gun, balls, and gear. It's really the gear that makes a different when the competition is fierce!

Have you had your Goji today?

Over the past few weeks we have actually been pretty healthy. Graem was sick back in December and had to go to the Emergency Room...but other than that. We’re alive and well!

One thing that I’ve tried to do is the obvious thing of not being around sick people! If we know friends or their kids are sick - we stay away! We also have been keeping warm and trying to eat a lot of healthy fruits and vegetables.

We’ve tried everything to stay healthier during these winter months including: including airborne, vitamins, and even drinking tons of orange juice. But it seems like nothing has worked.

I’ve heard great things about Tibetan Goji Berries & Goji Juice. They are most recently titled “the most nutritious food source on the planet.”

Goji juice helps with the following:

* Improve metabolism

* Strengthen the immune system

* Boost energy level

* Helps regulate blood pressure

* Promote healthy joints

* Support the digestive system

All of which our family could use help with! Goji is rich in natural occurring minerals including: zinc, calcium, germanium, selenium, phosphorus, copper and iron, and amino acids.

I will be on the lookout for Goji Berry Juice next time I go to Greenstar or Wegmans. At this point it’s really worth a shot!

Should I?

When I first resigned from Alterra I considered going back to school to either get a nursing degree or my MBA. I've since come to my senses and realized that even if I got either of those degrees I don't plan on moving out of Ithaca and I'm not sure I'd make that much more than I made before resigning.

Not to mention, upon graduation I'd just be stuck with college student loans!

There's a new way to get higher education these days though that doesn't involve sitting in a classroom bored stiff. Capella University offers online courses for people that work during the day and don't have the time in their busy schedule to squeeze in traditional college classes.

Don't put off getting your education or another degree because your schedule makes it hard --- now anyone can get the education they want!

No excuses!

This (or “the following”) blog post was (or “is”) based on information provided by Blogitive. For more information, please visit Blogitive.com.

Too much to do.

It's 11pm and I'm restless. I'm very tired but every time I try to go to bed I just keep thinking of all of the crap that I have to do tomorrow!

Not to mention, there are ants that have taken over our kitchen and I'm afraid if I turn the lights off they are going to get together and carry me away.

Always looking for ways...

to market my business. Advertising in upstate New York costs an arm and a leg. Marketing materials alone cost me close to $1,000. Which leaves my budget pretty slim. I've been looking for something that has a long "shelf life" that people can use and think of me.

What better thing to hand out than cheap pens! Everyone loves pens and uses them daily. Just the other day I picked up a pen that my massage therapist had given me. It reminded me to call her and schedule an appointment!

PensRUs.com offers a great selection of pens at really reasonable prices. Even this small business owner can afford to buy them!

Take me away!

We just got back from the Philippines and to say the least...it wasn't a vacation. It was hot, humid, and quite somber.

We are ready to head off to a family vacation resort. Thank goodness our vacation is only a few weeks awake. I'm not sure I could wait much longer.

Vacations.net offers some great vacations geared towards people that have families and younger children.

We just talked the other night about taking advantage of one of their Disney vacations. Not only do they offer a fun filled vacation to visit Minnie and Mickey...but the prices are really reasonable!

I love not having to worry about accomodations and knowing that everything is taken care of.

That makes the vacation that much sweeter!

I wish I knew...

how to play backgammon and chess. Those are two games that my parents never taught me to how play. We played checkers quite often and I became quite good.

There's no better time than now to learn how to play backgammon. It's never been easier with great websites like BackgammonMasters.com!

BackgammonMasters offers How to Play information for newbies like me. I can appreciate that they have a walkthrough on the game and even give hints on how to bring home the gold!

For more experienced players they offer tournaments and even chances to win cash. If you get good enough you can even challenge the infamous Jean-Claude.

Jean-Claude is not just a sexy tiger that's in charge or promoting BackgammonMasters and giving great advise. He's also there to provide you with tips in the kitchen and around the house too!

Right now, online viewers are encouraged to send suggestions to help with adding character to Jean-Claude. Great ideas will be rewarded with prizes if your idea is selected.

BackgammonMasters is not just a perfect venues for the newbies like me who have no idea how to play the game - but it's great for the intermediate or professional player who really knows and loves the game.

It's all about choices with Backgammon masters and you can choose to play private games, play in tournaments, or play for real money.

As PlayStation 3 says "It's in the game."

Have I mentioned?

How much I love my television? We didn't watch any television while we were in the Philippines. WHen we came back we realized how much great television we had taped.

We've been watching Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Lost, and 24 all weekend long. I think we are almost all caught up.

What a weekend...

We were able to get just about everything done that we had on our to do list. We cleaned the house, did laundry, mowed the lawn, did some gardening. We weren't able to catch up on sleep as much as we had hoped.

But we were able to have some late sleep in days...so that was nice.

Back in business.

Well, we're back in town and it looks like things have calmed down a bit. This week I'm going to try to get things back together. Then I'm going to pick up where I left off and start marketing again.

Help me!

Lately, business has been pretty dry. It could be that I have done a really crummy job at marketing my business. But I'm also out of ideas, money and time. A great investment for me would be to purchase some business sales leads.

MartinWorldwide.net focuses on building databases for businesses that specialize in the businesses demographics, audience, and clientele. You can purchase the information and be on your way to marketing to your intended audience.

The good thing is ... you're not wasting your time on people or organizations that might not want your product.

Ineffective marketing costs a lot! Save your money for the people that matter and are actually intersted in your product!

Darn.

I always miss out on the some of the best deals! Everyone knows I'm a big bargain shopper and I tend to do my homework before I make big purchases. When I started my business I thought I had purchased the best marketing and client database software on the market.

I was wrong!

Now there's a new kid on the block and it's called AIMPromote! AIMPromote is a crm software that offers just about everything a business owner could want in a software program. It monitors sales, marketing, and revenue. It can also manage your online traffic and website too.

Before, it would have taken three different types of software to do everything that AIMPromote does in just one program!

One thing that I love about the program is that you can now try it out for 2 weeks. If you don't like it then you don't have to keep it. If you decide to keep it the pricing is very affordable and you're sure to see many returns on this great investment!

Need help finding help?

It's not every day that you go out and find a rehab for yourself or a loved one. When we were looking for a family member a few years ago we had absolutely no idea where to turn.

There were many different options in the New York area and although this was a difficult case we sought the assistance of the social worker that was helping us with the case at a local agency.

If you or a loved one needs help with drug treatment seek the advise of non-biased professionals. 1800nodrugs.com offers a drug treatment database and they can help you with placement of yourself or a loved one. Their website offers information on addiction and recovery.

Don't try to do this alone. Seek the help that's out there.

Home!

Well, we made it back to the US today at around 11:45am. To say the least we are exhausted but so glad to be back home. We're staying in New Jersey tonight because we're so tired and jetlagged.

Get me out of here!

Staying in the Philippines has been great with the exception of the luxuries that we enjoy on a daily basis like toilet paper, toilet seats, and baths/showers.

We are ready to head out on our vacation to Cancun but next year we might look at a Puerto Vallarta all inclusive vacation. It's always nice going to an all-inclusive vacation because you can eat and drink all you want and not have to worry about racking up a big tab.

Vacations.net offers some great all inclusive vacations to a large variety of places. They also offer some great deals and you can place your travel arrangements online with the easy click of a button!

Zip it up!

We have all of our files on the computer including tax forms, our credit card information, and even our social security numbers. We've worried in the past about someone hacking in and having access to all of the information.

I've also worried about leaving the computer somewhere and someone having access to all of the information.

Now we can ZIP all of our important files up! SecureZip.com offers a program that will allow you to make documents, files, and emails secure so that only your eyes can view them.

It's one of the best protection options out there unless you have a bodyguard protecting your computer and who knows how honest he might be!

One single program that does it all - SecureZIP - The next generation of ZIP!

I love shopping!

I absolutely adore shopping! So far since we've been in the Philippines we've already hit a few places including the "Mall of Asia." This afternoon we are going back to the Mall of Asia to get Grammy's hair cut. Then we're going this afternoon to Great Hills mall on the other side of town.

If I were in the UK I would probably spend most of my shopping money at Twenga! I'm going to let my friends Alex and Dominic know of this website since they used to live in the UK and still have many friends there.

Twenga offers just about anything you could imagine and has a great selection with some great prices. Not to mention, the website is really easy to navigate through and you can place an order easily online.

Since I'm all about savings I checked it out for myself. They offer some great deals on: photo, audio-video, computers, and my all time favorite video gaming.

Of course, I'm going to keep my eyes open because the iPhone is due to be released in June and I want to get a piece of the action! That's not to say that I will actually buy it ... but a girl can dream!

Been a while.

I've been somewhat neglectful of doing marketing. If it's not one thing it's another. Obviously now I'm in the Philippines and can't go out and do outreach. But I have been subbing a lot too and on the days that I don't have subbing I've been doing my blogging.

I'm thinking that this summer I should have some down time and more time to focus on doing the quality outreach needed to stir up some more business.

Off.

Well, we are in the Philippines now because Margot's mother passed away. It was somewhat unexpectedly and so we had to be on the plane within 48 hours.

It's been a whirlwind of a trip and we are all jetlagged and exhausted.

The funeral ceremony is this afternoon and so we should be able to catch up on rest soon.

When are we going to have the time?

I'm looking out the window and I see our yard covered in snow. I know once the snow finally melts we're going to find a mess of leaves, weeds, ants, and God only knows what!

That's always the story in upstate New York towards the month of April and May. It's been months since I've seen green vegetation and once the snow finally melts I'm always surprised what we did with our landscaping the year before!

The problem with our lawn and gardens is that we never had a landscape design. We just threw some plants into a mulch bed and assumed that they'd grow into a beautiful flower bed.

Over the years...that hasn't been the case.

Next time we've got to hire SLDA Landscape Design Associates. Maybe they can help us (all the way from Boston) figure out what to do with our surroundings!

Disclaimer: Margot's Landscape Architect firm doesn't do residental!

Another snow day!

It's pretty gloomy here and yet another snow day for us. I woke up this morning to realize that our damn phone lines were down. I can't make any outgoing calls and when someone tries to call in I get one ring then static.

The guys are working on the lines and I hope they get things up and running soon. I'm using all of my cell phone minutes!

Give me a ride!

I can imagine very soon we're going to be saying those words when our 2000 Honda CRV stops running! We also have a 2006 Toyota Matrix which is the equivalent to the Toyota Corolla.

When the time comes when good ole' girl doesn't turn over I think we'll more than likely look at the Used Car Classifieds.

We can't afford a new minivan and hopefully, with our growing family we'll need one!

Classifieds.Carforums.net offers a great website where you can search for your dream car either locally or within your region. Most are for sell by owner and you can see pictures and information on the car.

The best part is -- you can get a great deal on a used car!

I never in a million years thought that I'd be excited by the thought of a minivan.

Next stop - soccer practice!

We love Russians!

When I met Margot over 10 years ago and she took me home to meet her family I was shocked to see that her Chinese father was dating a Russian woman! Supposedly, he had done a breast job on her (she was an exotic dancer) and the rest is history!

They are still together and for better or for worse.

At first we questioned if she was one of the Russian brides you about about from Russia! But she actually moved to the states prior to meeting Manny!

LoversPlanet offers profiles of Russian women that you can look at, write, and even meet! It's a great idea for people that are on the search for a foreign bride.

It's a win - win situation!

My review.

Reflex Limited is an Audio Visual Installation Company in the UK. They offer a one stop shop for visual devises such as projectors, displays, control systems and video conferencing.

Initially, when you visit the website it seems a bit confusing and even busy. There's way too much movement going on and I can't really focus on what the main message is. When I read the information and try to find out what the company does - it's still not really clear.

Also, the lady to the left --- what is the there for? I thought she might be live customer support but that doesn't appear to be the case! She's totally out of context.

The honeycomb on the right of the screen seems a bit random and still you can barely tell what the company is really trying to display.

The font on the tool bar at the top seems a bit small and although I have 20/20 vision I have to squint to see the wording.

I'm also not sure that I like the client list at the bottom of the page. Many people won't know what those logos are for and you can't click on them.

The good things are that the website seems fast, the links all appear to be working, and the information is well worded.

I think if the layout were changed and the front page weren't so cluttered it'd be a really good, informative, easy to use website!

This post sponsored by: Reflex.co.uk

Snow tomorrow too?

Well, it sounds like the local schools might be closed tomorrow.

Business has been very slow and I haven't had a client call in a while. It's time I go out and do some marketing.

However, I don't think anyone will be leaving the house tomorrow!

Take me away to Costa Rica!

We've talked about going to Costa Rica before but for some reason or another have never made it there. I've heard about the beautiful beaches, rainforests, and food they have to offer. The people are pleasant and very friendly to tourists and visitors.

One investment option that many people our age are doing is to invest in foreign real estate! Costa Rica Real Estate is not only beautiful, but also affordable. You can either rent out the real estate, use it for business or personal use.

The reality is that if you were to find the perfect place and purchase it and pay it off - you could literally retire with no expenses but food and insurance.

Encuentra24.com is a website for people looking to move or transfer to Costa Rica. They offer a great listing of properties available in the area, job listings, and even car options!

It's your one stop shop and you can really find it all on this website without looking any further!

The real estate section of Encuentra24.com offers housing by categories: Apartments/Condos, Lots/Land, Beachfront Home/Lots, Farms, Country Homes, Business, Houses, Commercial, Offices, Buildings, and Island Properties.

The website is well organized and easy to use. Check out the listing of great Costa Rica houses for sale!

I can't believe how inexpensive they are. Not to mention beautiful.

Maybe we should get out of snow upstate New York and move to some place sunny.

I know just the place!!

Hiring a maid?

So we've gone back and forth on hiring a housekeeper because our house just keeps getting messy and there's no way that I can watch Graem and also keep the house clean. Plus, my back has been killing me lately and just to bend over I experience pain in the lower region.

So, I might just go along with Margot's idea and get a housekeeper for every other week.

AUGH. I hate to think that I work one day just for someone to come in and clean my house and daycare.

What a waste.

Werkin.

It looks like I'll be subbing this Wednesday and Friday. I don't have gigs yet and I'm not sure how many jobs will be out there. It seems like when teachers get another day off in the week (today a snow day) that they are not likely to call in during that same week.

Of course, maybe that will give me a chance to take care of the 20 loads of laundry we have sitting our basement.

SNOW.

Where in the hell did all of this sun come from? Last night I went to bed and there was a little bit of ice on the ground. This morning I woke up to almost a foot.

Of course, Margot had already left for work when I realized that we needed to be plowed.

Ugh.

Thanks.

Bad credit?

Does bad credit ruin your life?

Have you been denied homeownership because you don't qualify for loans and mortgages?

Well check out Canadian Mortgage Brokers. They really go out of their way to offer credit to people that have bad credit or have had a hard time in the past.

Now you can get a No Down Payment Mortgage! That's a breath of fresh air for people who don't have a big savings or a lot of money to spend on closing costs.

Buying A House With $0 Down is unheard of in this day and age. I know personally, we had almost $14,000 saved up for closing costs and as a down payment for our little house!

It was nice to have such a large savings and at the time we were very fortunate. However, not everyone is in that situation.

MyCanadaMortgage.com offers a great website where you can easily search for available loans, get financial information, and even apply online!

Do the smart thing - become a homeowner and stop paying your landlords mortgage!!

Make it easy.

I'm not the most computer saavy person on this earth but I understand basic concepts of the computer and applications. A few years ago I had a marketing internship and my job was to enter information into a database.

The whole idea was that they would use the database to keep track of sales and marketing efforts. It was a pretty good program but at the time had tons of bugs that hadn't been worked through.

There are tons of programs out there that offer lead management. Sometimes it can be hard to pick the one that has the best features and is right for you. For my business I've tried access and ACT! before and both of them seem to do alright but I'm not overly impressed.

AIMPromote offers a great program that is designed with all businesses in mind. You can do everything from mail outs to monitoring your activity on your website. I also like the fact that you can run reports to see what makes the most sense from a financial standpoint.

The best part about AIMPromote is that it's offered for just a fraction of the other programs. You can start up for as little as $33!! Check out the website now and sign up for the free 14 day trial. Test it out and if you like it - keep it!

Make life easy - get your software to work for you!

Let's go to Orlando!

I'm just about ready to leave this snowy upstate New York weather and head out to some place sunny and warm! What better place to go than Orlando! You can get a great deal on an Orlando vacation right now and it's the perfect time of year!

MoreMouse.com offers a great website where you can rent vacation homes. This is the perfect idea for people with kids! Not only can you have your own little house, be close to Mickey but you might even be able to land a sweet little pad with a pool!

One word. Asshole.

Insulted players accept Imus apology

"The Rutgers University women's basketball coach said today her players accepted an apology by radio host Don Imus for racist and sexist slurs he made and they are "in the process of forgiving." Imus met with the athletes Thursday night hours after CBS fired him for calling the players "nappy-headed hos"." (Courtesty of CNN.com)

Imus: You suck. You're not just a racist, bigot...but you have horrible hair.

Rutgers Girls: Good for you for demanding an apology and moving forward.

Better insurance.

I'm excited to hear that better insurance is on the way. Starting 1/1/08 I will be on Margot's work insurance. Of course for Graem and me to both be on her policy it's going to cost us an additional $450 a month. But that's $150 or so less than we're paying now.

AUGH. That sucks.

Like flies on poo.

You should see this borders! I've never seen a bookstore packed like this. You'd think Pamela Anderson were here showing her ta tas.

Good thing I've been camping here for hours and have the best seat in the house.

The old guy next to me is reading the NY Times and I swear he either poo'd his pants or he keeps dropping some major bombs.

Your addiction affects everyone.

When I was the Director in a health care setting I had an aid that had an addiction to alcohol and drugs. He was one of the best caregivers that I have ever seen. But the one thing that really hindered his life was his addictions.

A few years into his job, he got married, had children and it seemed like as his job and life in general got more stressful - the more he would turn to alcohol.

Maybe days he would come to work so hung over that you could smell the alcohol coming out of his pores.

Dealing with alcoholism as a corporate entity because you can't accuse and sometimes it's even tricky to approach someone if you think they might have a problem.

After seeing this behavior one day he came to work and made a series of errors which ended up costing him his job.

Of course, this was the least of his worries because he could have lost a lot more. I wish he would have turned to a drug rehab such as Stone Hawk.

Stone Hawk uses the Narconon program and the people that work and run the program have had issues with addiction as well. They use the Narconon program because it's been positive and has worked for them.

You can download an information packet online using their website. You can even make contact on their home page by filling out the form or you can call their 1-800 number 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

They realize that addiction is not just a nine to five issue.

Vacation right around the corner!!

So, we don't have much longer than our trip to Cancun and I don't know if I've ever been this excited about a vacation!! Of course, we've never had such great accomodations and we've never had a fun vacation (other than P-Town) with Grammy!

To say the least...it will be intersting!

Hip! Hip! Hooray!

We are so ready for a weekend! To say the least this week has been a doozie. Margot's work tons, I've worked tons and we're ready to sit back, relax, and enjoy family time together!

No work today!

It's been nice to hang out today without doing the subbing gig. Of course, I have tons of blogging to do so that is taking up most of my time today! Already, I've been here for most of the morning and been able to nail out tons of posts!

Get back to school!

After graduating with a bachelors I think many of us think that we're done education. But the reality is...we shouldn't be!

Living in Ithaca every one has a bachelors degree. There a dime a dozen. That's why I've started looking at .online school to get a masters of business administration.

DirectoryOfSchools.com is a great website that does all of the research and shopping for you! You can go there and it has a listing of all of the online schools and you can take a look at the programs they offer.

The website is easy to use and you can go directly to the school of your choices website directly through theirs.

If you're debating going back to school don't put it off any longer. It's easy, fun, and who knows, you might even learn something!

Turn the water off!

When I moved to Ithaca I never really thought about turning the water off when I brushed my teeth. Instead, I'd turn it on, wet my tooth brush, then let it run during the whole two minutes brushing.

Now, I realize that water is a natural resources and why waste it? The way that we've all been abusing and wasting these natural resources at some point we could run out.

After watching Al Gore's movie it really opened my eyes to what we're actually doing to our environment and earth.

There are ways to go backwards though

www.friendsofwater.com is a great website that talks about the dangers of overusing our water supply and really destroying our water facets for future generations.

You can also read information on how to save our water supply and become an active part of that movement.

Everyone knows how much I love shopping and now I can shop at Friends of Water store! They have great items for everyone in the family and funds go to support saving the water!

We do not have fluoride in our water and I'm glad after reading fluoride risks that we don't!

Don't take our earth for granted and read more about saving our water resources.

Looking your best.

I always believe in looking my best when working or going to meetings. Even though we live in upstate New York and dressed up is considered a nice pair of khakis. I'd rather be over dressed than underdressed any day of the week!

When I was the Executive Director in corporate America I used to wear suits on a daily basis.

One designer who's really got the right idea about accessories and dressing to impress is Peter Belisi. His style is sharp, clean, and very professional.

His fashion is like a piece of art and constantly changing with the times. Not only does he have great fashion sense and displays that through his clothing line but he also knows music too!

He has his own radio show which has amazing artists and is constantly looking to add his own flare to the many different art forums.

Now you can check out Peter's blog - SharpByDesignBlog.com. It discusses how to "dress to impress" and really look the part!

So tired.

I don't know if I've ever been this exhausted. I started back up on my weight loss pills and they make me somewhat tweaky. I stay up til all hours of the night because I just can't sleep.

Then when I decide that I'm tired I got back upstairs and Margot's snoring like mad.

Maybe, I'll catch some ZZZs with Graem!

We love our pets.

Although, I complain about our pets constantly and all of the care that they require I can't imagine a time when they are not around.

A few years ago when Murphy was admitted to Cornell I kept saying that we should look into pet insurance but we just haven't had the time.

Now with our animals getting older it seems like an even better option than before.

PetCareInsurance.com offers insurance for your pets so that you don't have to make their medication decision based on cost.

This post sponsored by: PetCareINsurance.com

Off tomorrow!

I'm pretty psyched to have another off day! Of course, I have errands out the wazoo and we really want to send Margot's dad a nice care package since this is his 4th round of chemo.

I also have to take back some shoes that I bought for Grammy yesterday. She doesn't like them and when I got them home I realized I don't like them either!

The kid has a good sense of style!

Not much longer now!

I feel like we're in the home stretch before we leave for our Cancun vacation. We decided to go with Cancun because they had some awesome deals and also we wanted to go to a place that had a foreign language and good food!

Another option at some point is going on a Hawaii Vacation! I've seen tons of pictures from Hawaii and the sights are breathtaking! Not to mention, I've heard that the food is amazing too with all of the fresh fish.

We would probably be interested in getting a beach rental because it just makes sense when you're traveling with small children to have access to a house and kitchen. We enjoy our evenings in and like to appreciate a quiet environment that many hotels don't offer.

HawaiianBeachRentals.com offers some great listings of condos, apartments, and houses in Hawaii. You can see pictures, prices, and get a feel for where you might be staying.

Tired of being exposed??

Our kitchen has absolutely no window coverage and we are constantly running around the house nude! We've talked about getting some curtains but I'm not sure that would be the way to go because the room is so small and curtains would make the room look smaller.

One option for us might be blinds! We have some great blinds in Grammy's room and it's so nice to be able to make one adjustment and either have light or not.

Terry's Fabrics offers a great selection of blinds and window coverings at great rates. They also offer free shipping with a minimum purchase and customer satisfaction with no question returns.

This might be the next best solution to actually wearing clothes when we're home.

Nah...That wouldn't be any fun!

Sitting in Borders...

Well, I'm just hanging out today at Borders and working on blogging and also our websites. I've neglected the hell out of them and feel somewhat guilty. I've been so wrapped up in actually getting the paid posts that my filler posts have sucked the big one.

That's why I'm going to try harder to make sure that I'm not just writing about miscellanous crap! I'll try to be more topical and even have some advise columns over the next few weeks.

Who knows...you might even learn something from my website aside from when I have a bowel movement and when I eat a meal!

I hate debt.

We are right on the edge of paying off all over our debt. It's been accrued over the years with college, vacations, and infertility.

At one point we even considered debt consolidation but decided that it was the best option for us and more than likely we could manage our debt by ourselves without having to pay a company or have our credit damaged.

DebtConsolidationlowdown.com is a great website where you can get the skinny on how to reduce debt. I'm already in love with the first article "12 Reasons why Homeownership is for suckers". I feel like I probably could have written that article! Especially, since I complain constantly about all of the repairs that need to be done to our house and the lack of funds that we have to do them!

The website also seems to have other good articles but a tad bit disorganized. It might be helpful for readers to categorize the articles. That way if I'm looking for "savings" I can go to one place and find all of the helpful articles on savings.

Just my two cents of course!

I guess it's spring break!

Yesterday, I was looking on the web for a subbing gig and somewhat disappointed when I didn't get a call this morning. Come to find out all of the schools are out this week because of spring break.

I guess that means that I get today and Friday off!

Woo woo!

My darn hair.

I'm completely at a loss as to what to do next with my hair. I've had a short haircut for the past ten years or so and now that it's getting longer I just want it out of my face!

It's in this horrible transition phase where it has little to no body and it's just long enough to put behind my ears.

In the past I've worn headbands and Margot gave me way too much crap. However, I think a nice leather headband is just what the doctor ordered!

Or at least my hairstylist!

HeadGamesOnline.com offers a great assortment of headbands, hats, and even barrettes! They have something for that little girl, mother, or grandma!

You can be sure to find the perfect Mother's Day Gift here!

A new way to invest.

After the market crashed a few months ago we have been looking for something new to invest our wealth into. We've looked at international markets and they're really unstable.

At this point I'm ready to invest some of my funds into gold bars. The one thing about gold, silver, and other precious metals is that year after year they offer a consistent investment.

Not to mention, their demand always higher than the supply. Obviously, by using basic laws of economics you can see that this might be a good idea for the future!

Monex is an industry leader with gold, silver, and precious metals. You can buy the metals in many different types of ways and even store them through the provider.

This is a noteworthy investment and a great way to diversify your portfolio. Especially during these unstable market times.

Management.

When I was Executive Director I constantly looked for good people to be part of my team. The one thing that happened when I started the position was that I decided to Change Management.

The people that were managers before ended up moving on because they didn't want to be accountable for their actions and some didn't want to work hard and be part of the new team.

I wish I would have known of the services of Knickerbocker & Stevens. They offer management consulting for businesses with a psychological approach too.

It takes constant work to make a good team the best team. But when everyone's on board it's amazing and you can really make a difference!

New York City

I've decided that my business would do so good in NYC. There are tons of options for senior care and I think it'd be next to impossible for people to actually choose what place to put mom or dad.

Of course, I'd have to check out all of the place in order to offer consulting.

Hmm...maybe I'll just stick with Ithaca.

A great business solution!

I've noticed lately that most of my clients are located out of town or out of our area so each time I have to call them back I end up using my cell phone and my cell phone minutes. Not to mention, the reception isn't always the best.

One option that I've looked into is Vonage. They are currently offering one free month and you can either sign up online or by calling their 1-800 number.

Plus their monthly is $24.99 and that's unlimited local and long distance.

We pay that for local alone!

Heading out for the weekend!

Well, we're about to head out to NYC. I never realized how much there is to actually getting a family of three in the car and on the road!

After 1 hour of packing and 2 hours of cleaning it looks like we're finally set.

Of course, this isn't a well deserved vacation or time off since we'll more than likely be getting down and dirty.

Tell one! Tell all!

Of course, I work pretty hard on our blogs to make them not only enjoyable to our readers but also credible for promoting good items and other blogs around the world wide web!

With that being said I always try to give advice from with business, marketing, and sales background to small business owners, friends, and family who might want to start their own business.

It's not always a cake walk and you don't always have people pounding down your door! In fact, many stay at home mom's that try to start their own business have a really hard time like me balancing home life and work life!

With that being said I hope you check out web awards sponsored by BloggersChoiceAwards.com!

You can go on the website nominate your favorite business blog and mommy blog *HINT*HINT* and everyone on the web votes! Of course, I'd love to be distinguished as "the top" blog in these areas.

But I realize that I'm far from the best and considering that a few of my blogs have only been around for a few months I'm not sure I have enough content and I'm certainly lacking in pictures and documentary

Maybe, I'll aim towards winning the best business blog for next years Bloggers Choice Awards!

Voting is between now and March and the winner will be announced at PostieCon in Florida.

Finally.

I have a day of rest where I can sit back and enjoy the day a little. Of course, I had to change the cat shit box this morning, do laundry, clean the house, and make lunch.

But that's still a pretty low key day!

Just beachy!

Getting Graem's passport wasn't as bad as we thought. We ended up putting a rush on it since we'll be leaving for Cancun May 11th. We got it in the mail today and little did we realize that after all was said and done we would have to spend $200!

Had we known that we might have decided to vacation somewhere in the United States like Hawaii or the Caribbean. Hawaii travel has never been easier! HawaiianBeachRentals.com is a great website where you can check out some of the coolest rentals available! Many are for rent by owner and so you can pick up some really great places at amazing deals!

I like the fact that a lot of the listings have pictures so you can get an idea of where you're staying before you sign up or give your financial information!

Instead of getting Grammy's passport for $200 it would have been nice to be able to spend that money on our vacation!

Car shopping?

Are you in the market for a used car?

Have you already looked in the Used Car Classifeds and not found the perfect car?

In the next few months to a year we're going to be car shopping and more than likely we will only be able to afford a used car/minivan. We really like the style and design of the Toyota Sienna but the price for a new one is outrageous!

Pre-Owned vehicles offer great savings and many of the automobiles for sale are in great condition but looking for a new home!

Free Used Car Classifieds offer thousands of listings and you can search by car or location.

AutoCity101.com offers a great website that's easy to use and a great way to list and find the perfect car!

I love the fact that's it's free and doesn't cost an arm and leg to advertise on. The best part about this website is that they are donating a good portion of their profits towards orphanages in Mexico and plan to help worldwide orphanages.

Not only are you buying/selling a car -- your use of the website goes to a good cause!

Help save the children and get yourself into a great used car!

Tons to do.

Tonight Margot's working late and so it's girl and me on our own. I plan on picking her up after I'm done at the coffee shop probably at 5 or so. From there we might pick up some bacon from Wegmans. (Margot's dad requested some peppercorn bacon for when we go down there this weekend.)

I'm also in charge of getting the laundry cleaned, packed, and put away and the house in order. Not to mention, I still have to call the kennel and make arrangements. Oops.

Traveling is such a big deal when you have a kid and animals!

Have you ever been in an abusive relationship or had someone cheat on you?

Most of the time women who are in these relationships are treated poorly and they see the man jump from relationship to relationship doing the same exact thing to other women.

Now it's time to do something about it!

World's Largest Database Rating Abusive and Cheating Men

WomanSavers.com offers a great website for women to unite and rate men and their behaviors. Now you can check out a database of over 25,000 men to see if the guy that you are dating has been rated.

The whole idea is perfect --- but it needs supporters and for women to speak out!

Exhausted.

Well, I finished up subbing today and I'm hanging out at the bagel shop eating a delicious Tex-Mex bagel and drinking a good, hot cup of Joe.

I love that they have wireless and I can do my blogging and search the web at the same time.

Subbing today wasn't too bad. This is the third time that I've subbed for this class so they know my style. I liked the kids and for the most part they were pretty respectful.

That's all I can ask for as a sub!

Glad I pulled my money out!

A few years when I decided to stay home with Graem I pulled out my 401K. Thank God I did because I would have had next to nothing with the stock market crashing and contining to do poorly.

Now, I have just started to look at options for what to do with my retirement and how to save for my future.

I've looked at Global Futures Exchange and Trading and it seems to be a good way to diversify my portfolio by investing in global futures and forex.

You never can be diversified enough and the way things are going you've got to find that one nitch market that hasn't been discovered in order to make money.

The good thing with Global Futures is that you can invest as little as $250 to get started.

Workin' woman.

Today I have a subbing gig at the middle school. I'm teaching math and I always like to go in a little early to relearn what I learned back in 7th grade and haven't used since then!

Of course, it's dark, windy, and cold out. I remember when the weather was like this when I was younger in Houston.

We were HORRIBLE.

I hope the lights don't go out today.

Marketing for the little guy.

I've finally come across something that might be ideal for my business and website. When I had a business website a few months ago I realized that it wasn't getting much traffic and it really didn't have that much useful information.

Now, I can actually post a video on my website and either put useful tips or just introduce myself.

I can be just like all of the major products out there that have a professional image and video on their website!

Selldeo.com has an easy to use website and I can make my video and there's no charge at all to use their product! Unless, of course, I want to sponsore their website. Which might not be a bad idea!

Business luncheon

We ended up going to Olivia's for lunch and I had hoped for better. The food wasn't that great and the bill came to over $40 for the two of us.

We were able to talk about work stuff and also personal information too. Come to find out we're going to Cancun on the same dates and we even talked about hooking up for a Mayan Adventure!

Just if I would have had this...

When I was a student (and it wasn't that long ago) we didn't have anything that the kids today have! Now that I'm substituting I get to see all of the new technology that the kids are using.

Mindmapping is the up and coming program that I'm sure to see more of! It allows you to make 3-D images and charges and actually navigate up and down, left to right while giving a presentation!

Margot has so many projects and typically they use Powerpoint and boards to display the information to an audience. Mindmapping would allow them to have total project management review in an easy to use program. Not only could they convey the ideas but in a really great format that's easy to understand.

With all of Margot's project management she'd be a perfect candidate for this software. She can get organized, draw charts, and I'm sure it'd really ease her workload to know exactly what needed to be done and what timeline she needed to work off of.

Check out this video to learn a little bit more about 3D Mindmapping Software:

The newest addition...

to our technology family is our new laptop. *clap*clap*

We received it last night and all yesterday Margot was working on getting it up and running. She's pretty bitchy about the fact that it has Windows Vista. But all in all it seems to do the job.

Of course, I miss the set up of our old computer.

RIP Old Dell Laptop.

Oops.

We were using Margot's work computer for a week or so while our new computer was being built and sent. Just this morning I called Margot in a panicked fit because I forgot to erase the internet history!

God only knows what might have been in the cache and I didn't want her boss giving a presentation online and all of a sudden have something nasty come up!

I'm glad I just came across an article "Erasing Your Internet History." Because after reading it I was reminded of the importance of cleaning up after my sloppy computer useage!!

Check out DataStrongHold.com - they offer some great articles on various technology topics!

A busier week than I thought!

We decided this morning that we were going to make the hike up to NYC to visit Margot's dad this weekend. It's so much work for us only staying less than 48 hours. Not to mention the drive into Brooklyn is murder.

It wasn't so bad to get into Queens and really was a 4 hour drive and we didn't run into traffic at all. That I can deal with. It's the 6-7 hour drive with traffic that drives me bonkers.

So today, I'm going to meet up with my lunch date and come home and start washing clothes and packing up.

Yipee!

I hate dieting.

I've lost about 75 pounds over the past year and it hasn't been a cake walk. Mmm...cake.

In fact, I have been on medication, eaten better, and exercised. I feel a lot better after not having that extra weight on me. But it has been a lot of bland and tasteless food.

That's why when I see something yummy that peaks my interest I feel obligated to share the information to friends and readers!

d'Oni Enterprises Speciality Sauces designs the perfect sauce for the dieter and healthy eater. Their sauces are designed with flavor, taste, and your body in mind! Not only are they all natural but they also don't contain preservatives.

Enjoy the benefits of dieting and feeling healthy --- but enjoy the process too! Have yummy food and live long to tell about it!!

Business lunch

Tomorrow I'm meeting with an old friend and referral source. She's a professional at Cornell and someone that's really become family. We used to babysit her kids when they were younger.

She has older parents and she's very involved in the community at the local university. Not only does she always have her eyes and ears open but I'm sure she'd be more than happy to refer me if she knew of someone in need of my services.

Just if I could get...

Margot into some of this Angel Bodywear Lingerie we'd be all set!

She's not much for wearing lingerie and I can hardly talk her into a lacey bra.

I really love the black slinky tube dress with cut outs! Can you believe you can find an outfit these days for only $13.95?

Somehow, I don't think Margot would be as excited as I am!

This post sponsored by: AngelBodyWear.com

Closer.

So I realized that I'm not quite the closer that I used to be. Typically, had I had someone call and was interested in services back in my corporate day I would have followed up with them three days later almost to the point of hounding them. But in a friendly way.

At this point...I feel like I don't have to do that. Not just financially either. But I feel like my services are such that if I leave a positive impression and they have my contact information then I've done my job. The last thing they need is a pushy business person trying to take their money and put grandma in a home!

Okay, well some of them would like that.

Attention Sports Fans!

With basketball season starting playoffs and the final four finishing up sports minded people are looking towards the next season of sports! We won't mention the upsets in Baseball Spring Training!

Now there's a great place where you can play Fantasy Sports. RotoPlay is a well organized website that allows you to either play short term or long term games with fast and easy payouts!

Sign up is easy and can be done directly on the website. They offer many different types of fantasy sports including: football, basketball, baseball, golf, and Nascar. They also have community message and newsletters for the sports enthusiasts!

Finally!

Graem has been quite the pill today and I'm ready to drop her off tomorrow at daycare. OH wait...she's with me tomorrow.

Damn!

I'm subbing Wednesday and I already have my assignment. I love it when teachers request to have me sub for them! Not only do I get to know a week in advance, but it makes me feel good too!

Big links keep on turnin'

Every time I do a search on one of my blogs I'm constantly finding myself at the bottom on page 30 of the search! I guess that's what happens when you have a page rank of one or two.

Of course, the big search engines end up having all of the crappy blogs and links at the top of their searches and half of the time it's just an advertisement!

Big Web Links Bid Directory allows the little guy to get ahead!! Now you can simply place a bid to be on the top and before long you're a grandmaster with a page rank of 10!

Could life get better?

Down for the count.

Augh...Graem and me are sick again! I feel like mine is starting to go away but hers has just started. Hopefully, she'll be better so I can sub some on Wednesday and continue blogging throughout the week.

God knows, my life is miserable when she's sick!
