All I want for Christmas is...

Money!!

One thing that never loses it’s value is a gold! Even when our stocks are floundering you can always look to silver, gold, and precious metals to maintain their value.

I think I might want to buy gold coins before year ends because I'm hoping that stocks will go up with the Christmas holliday projections.

US Gold Bureau offers gold and other precious metals for delivery or they will make arrangements to have your metals stored privately and securely at a bank or depository.

I didn’t realize this but US Gold Bureau is an industry leader. They sell silver in two forms: coin or ingot. We all know what the coins look like, but the ignots are pure bullion cast in a convenient size and shape. I can only imagine they look like the blocks that are in most cartoons!

The world demand now exceeds the supply demand for gold - which makes it a pretty smart investment.

Our friends...

I'm not sure I talk about our friends a whole lot because most of them are pretty private people and typically I can't bring up their names. So a post with a lot of L's and J's and A's don't make a damn bit of sense to people and typically confuses me too!

But I just have to say that I am so fortunate for our close friends. Sometimes I feel like I don't have a family because my grandma lives so far away and we are somewhat distant. My cousin lives far away and she's busy raising her kids too.

SO it's nice to be able to get together and have time with good friends. I know they love us and our kids and it really means the world to me.

The day of the sickie.

Last night I knew I was coming down with something. My throat hurt and I was asleep on the couch by 9:30pm. This morning I woke up and felt like a truck ran me over. My head was ringing and my throat felt super scratchy. Not to mention my body aches.

Thank god I have a somewhat flexible job that I was able to reschedule my appointment and actually rest on the couch with a cup of hot tea.

G-O-L-D!

I love the yellow stuff!

After the market crashed a few months ago we have been looking for something new to invest our wealth into. We've looked at international markets and they're really unstable.

At this point I'm ready to buy gold coins. The one thing about gold, silver, and other precious metals is that year after year they offer a consistent investment.

I even thought about getting the girls some American Gold Eagle Coins. Not only are they beautiful but it's quite the investment for your kids.

Not to mention, their demand always higher than the supply. Obviously, by using basic laws of economics you can see that this might be a good idea for the future!

United States Gold Bureau is an industry leader with gold, silver, and precious metals. You can buy the metals in many different types of ways and even store them through the provider.

This is a noteworthy investment and a great way to diversify your portfolio. Especially during these unstable market times!

We're off!

We're trying to finish up work so that we can head to North Carolina tomorrow. We are going to go to Graem's feast at school and then we're going to hit the road. It's suppose to be 10 hours and unfortunately we're probably going to hit Washington DC right around rush hour. Eek.

I hope that Emmy is able to take her nap on the way and that we don't have to listen to kid radio for too much of the ride!

Work? Where are you?

This week has been way too slow. In fact, it's been so slow that I can't even pay for daycare with my earnings.

Sucks. I know I asked for fewer cases due to the holidays but five hours is ridiculous!

Guess who's here?

THE PLUMBER. That's right. They were suppose to be here at 4:00pm and it's now 9:18pm. They've been out at the van for about 10 minutes now. God they're slow. They've got to pick up the pace if they're going to charge by the hour!!

R&R.

Thank GOD work has been manageable lately. I had a sick kid Wednesday. Graem and I stayed in bed, watched a little bit of television and read books. It was actually nice just hanging out and doing nothing with the girl.

Plus, we really needed to rest and get better because we have a big trip coming up and everyone needs to be better.

I need more

Money!!

Tomorrow...

I have a local and then I'm off to Watkins. So.not.fun.

At least it's a relatively short day and I can pick Grammy up and head to Panera to do my computer work.

Mmm...Panera.

Today feels like a wasted day. Didn't get anything done.

Way too much work.

This week I put in almost 40 hours. I'm friggin tired. That's on 2 days of daycare and endless nights on the computer and I worked the weekend. I'm trying to pack in time this week because last week I had to take off a day for no school and kids. This coming up week same thing.

Then of course I'm trying to take off time for the Thanksgiving holidays so trying to pack in all of my work into just a few days.

The word of the day is...

GOLD.

Everynight...

seems to be a work night. Right now Margot's on the floor doing work and I'm working on the computer doing blogging. Typically, I have reports that I'm doing for work and I try to do most of it in the evening because I really can't count on Emmy taking her nap and me having that time to do my daily reports.

I need more time.

OR

An assistant.

Work, work, and more work.

Tomorrow's quite the day. Cardiologist, work, school meeting, work, Emmy's meeting, pick kids up, work.

UGH.

I need another vacation.

Maybe there's another route in my life...

instead of pursuing real estate I should head to cosmetology school in Phoenix!

My grandmother and great aunts and uncles live in Phoenix and I can honestly say there's not too much going on. So that's why I am thinking about going for a visit and checking out the new Beauty school at Regency Beauty! Regency Beauty specializes in top-notch cosmetology teaching and has catered to some of the most famous in the business.

I am not so sure that I am fit for doing beauty and maybe I should just plan on staying in Ithaca and doing the real estate gig after all.

Then again...a good manicure and pedicures sounds good about now!

This blog post was based on information provided by Blogitive. For more information, please visit Blogitive.com or contact Regency Beauty Institute – 10217 North Metro Parkway West – Phoenix, AZ 85051

The school tour.

Next week we are going to visit Graem and Emmy's elementary school. I called today and spoke with the administrative assitant. She was really nice and we are going to meet with the principal and also visit the pre-k room and 1st grade room.

It should be interesting and I hope that the tour goes good because I would love for the kids to be able to go to the local school where I can walk them there and pick them up after school is over.

No more bus.

It's official. We've stopped using the bus for Graem. She was on the bus for more than an hour each way. That's two hours on the bus a day for a five year old little girl.

Way too much.

So now it means that I lose an hour of work a day because I have to pick up Graem. Most days it's fine. However, when work picks up it gets a little bit harder.

More gold, please!

That's why I think it's time to buy gold bullion!

SO TIRED.

It's 8:25pm and I can barely keep my eyes open. I'm exhausted. Between Margot's snoring at night, my arm hurting, and being on my period and having to pee every 4 hours I have been getting absolutely HORRIBLE sleep.

Maybe I should just call it a night and go to the bathroom and get my Nyquil shots! Really, it's a last course of action but it sure does help me catch up on alssp and the next day I wake up feeling so great and rested!

WORK.

Too much. Too little.

I swear this week I haven't had much work at all. I know business is really slow and to some extent I don't mind. I think Graem might be coming down with a cold so it's really not so bad that I might not have work Friday.

Tomorrow I have to help a friend out and then I have two jobs. Then it starts all over again and I have late night reports.

Then nothing.

Until next week.

Unfair.

The other day I was at a friend’s house and he told me about how they had used a certain radiant floor heating and it caused damage to the house and the whole renovation that they did had to be ripped up and redone.

Fortunate for him he was able to join a class action lawsuit and get money for damages.

I think many times things happen that are unfortunate and people ignore or don’t hold companies responsible for their actions and incompetence. I read up on the Accutane Lawsuit and there are so many individuals who have been directly influenced by this medication.

In fact, when I was in high school I had a dear friend who was on this medication and within just a few months (over the summer) I got a call that he was in the hospital with liver cancer.

He was 16 and died.

It was life changing and I’ll never forget seeing him in the hospital hooked up to tubes and dark orange in color.

I certainly hope that others have learned from this situation and that the pharmaceutical companies have been held responsible.

Work.

Bastards.

Second post that blogger ate. Completely.

Just writing about my work and how I'll work from 9 to 2 and then go to Panera and do my reports.

Obsessed.

I can't stop watching the CHilean miner's rescue on television.

I started watching it at the mall when we were eating Thai food and now I can't step away from the television because I'm scared I'm going to miss something.

This happened last time when the hurricanes hit. Eek.

Did I mention?

THAT we're going on vacation this week? So.damn.excited.

It seems like forever since we've been out of town and we love traveling so much. Margot has tons of time collected at work and so we are thinking about ways to travel that are kid and mama friendly.

Any suggestions?

SO TIRED.

I'm friggin' exhausted. I feel like all I've done this week is work. I really need to figure out how to have my big day in the middle of the week so that I can enjoy my full weekend instead of having to spend half of Saturday doing reports.

More money, please?

That's why I think it's time to buy gold coins!

Workin to hard.

Seriously...I worked almost 30 hours last week and that's with only 3 days of daycare. I totally busted my balls this week and I'm friggin exhausted. Sure enough, I might have a pretty good week ahead because my boss is not overloading me with work.

Don't get me wrong...I love the work...and even more importantly...I love the money!

My job...

at one point I was pretty serious about doing real estate. Then of course, the market took a huge dump in it's pants. Houses around us aren't selling at all and the last thing I wanted to do was to jump into what seems like a sinking ship!

That's why I'm glad that I got a really great job doing surveys. I have a pretty flexible schedule and overall I make good money.

It's a win-win, really. I get to look at great houses (and dumps!) and I get to see what's out there and the asking price.

Work, work and more work.

I've been nailed with cases lately! This Friday I'm going out to Schuyler county and have a full day full of surveys. Not to mention, that evening I'll have to come back and enter all of the information into the computer.

The good thing is it's going to be some nice spending money for when we leave on vacation.

TGI 7:30pm bedtime tonight!

We're going back to having an early bedtime tonight since school is just a few short days away and we really have to try and get the kids back on schedule.

Of course, it doesn't help much that Emmy's sleeping now and we're going to expect her to wake up for two hours and go back to bed...

Of course, a 7:30 bedtime means that Margot and I can finish up our house chores and do laundry, bathroom, and maybe even finish putting the panels up in the basement!

The achey ear.

I can't hear a thing out of my left ear and I'm getting to the point of being concerned. It's been over a week now and I've been on some heavy duty antibiotics and ear drops. It seems like the earache is better but the ear drum still feels enlarged.

Wednesday I have an appointment with a specialist... I really hope I'm not going deaf in my left ear.

We need more gold, please!

It's that time of year again....

Today we went to Graem's open house at school. It was a lot of fun. I can remember when we went two years ago and it was a nightmare. Not only did she not want to go inside the building but she threw a kicking and hitting fit when she got in...

Thank god times have changed!

The job.

So I started a new job. I must say that there are days when I wonder what the hell I'm doing but most days I really like the job.

I go around to houses and do inspections for the home insurance companies. I get paid by the job and typically I make enough money to pay for daycare and a little bit extra.

The great thing about the job is that it's flexible. I can schedule appointments whenever and can even squeeze in some hours in the weekend.

Where to go?

So I am sure that you just read my last post about what job I want to pursue. But before I had that problem I had no idea what college I wanted to go to! When I was in Texas I had so many choices.

Had I been a senior in high school that actually was thinking about my future I might have actually done my homework and researched universities!

I might have also wanted to research college degrees before going to a big state university and majoring in Philosophy!

CollegeDegreesToday.com offers a great website that can really guide you to the perfect match between the field you want to go into and the university or college.

In fact, had this website been around when I was in school I might have chosen to go to a different school and would not have wasted all of that money in a school that did not even offer the major that I wanted!

Stuck.

So I totally don't know what I want to do when I get older! I don't know if I want to pursue the real estate gig or actually get a real job!

I have to figure this out pretty fast because I really need to get the 75 hour real estate course under my belt and margot is going to take off a week of work so that I can do it.

Back and forth...

So I must admit that I'm getting some cold feet when it comes to being a real estate agent. I don't know if it's the fear of being a failure or just not being ready to take the plunge.

It hit me the other night when I was sitting and enjoying a Friday night dinner with friends. More than likely as an agent I wouldn't have that time free and more than likely I'd be showing people houses...

So much for a relaxing weekend...

We have our open house tomorrow and we're both exhausted! we had the electrician out today and I must say that things are LOOKING GOOD! I'll post pictures later.

Of course, we still have doors, finish up home theatre, put up pictures, and clean the house to do. Frick...that's a lot.

I'm so damn tired and there's so much to do.

Weekend!

It's been a very long weekend! We've done a lot and I've been trying to do a little bit to the house each day.

Yesterday I put up two exterior lights and tonight I plan on doing the last coat on the door and touching up. Then I'll put the door handle on and we'll have a nice COMPLETE door closet!

The interview!

I had my interview last week for the real estate position and it went perfect! Within minutes I knew I was in the right place.

I was able to get information about how to take the classes and it looks like I'm going to get started in the fall when Emmy starts up montessori school.

I'm excited about starting a new career and a little scared!

Eyeglasses for less!

Every few years I get the urge to get new eyeglasses!

A year ago I got the ugliest glasses known to man and I think I have worn them three times. My insurance only covered certain frames and I was being a cheapie.

The good news is that there's now an online optical that offers high quality, fashionable, eyewear without costing an arm and a leg - Zenni Optical!

In fact, The Examiner gave Zenni Optical a two thumbs up.

With Margot doing all of this work on the house it'd be nice to get her a new pair glasses so that she can use her old ones on house stuff.

God knows when you rely on a single pair of glasses you are really up a creek when they get broken!

Just a few more days....

Til I go on my interview!

I am meeting with the business manager at the local real estate firm. I want to talk to her about becoming an agent. I know I have to take some classes and an exam then I think I will need to find someone to mentor me and show me the ropes.

I'd love to be up and running by December but that might be wishful thinking. Then there's all of the fees that I'm going to have to pay.

I see snow ! It's time to go!

The weather forecast reads snow showers through Thursday of this week. Not once does the temperature go above thirty-two degrees and I have not seen the sun in over a month.

Depressing?

Yes.

That's why we always try to go on a SUNNY family vacation!

This past year we went to see Alex and Dominic in California. We were able to get some beach time. However, it wasn't a "beach vacation".

I've been keeping my eyes glued to the website KarismaHotels.com. The pictures make my mouth water and for an instant I can picture myself on one of their beautiful beaches sipping my Pina Colada and swimming in their elegant pools.

They have first class gourmet dining and all-inclusive packages that can fit any budget too!

Say no more.

Take me away!

Alone. Home.

It's so quiet right now!

Emmy's sleeping after having two therapy appointments today. She's been getting so tired and typically she crashes the second the therapists walk out the door.

Lucky for me though...she's been sleeping a good two to three hours A DAY!

That gives me just enough time to update the blogs and she always wakes up right before it is time to pick up her big sister from school.

Nuttin.

I've been looking for the perfect part-time job and I'm sad to report ... there's absolutely nothing out there!

I have an interview after we close on our house with the local real estate company. I'm thinking about taking the real estate class and getting my license.

With my experience in sales and my knowledge of housing and Ithaca --- I think I could do a pretty good job.

Not to mention, I have the "IN" with the school moms!

Not so booming.

Well, since the economy took a dump I must say that job prospects are at their worst. I keep looking for the perfect job and have yet to really pinpoint anything.

Having the kids home this week has been miserable and so I'm thinking more and more about going back full-time. I'd have to find daycare for Emmy full-time then I'd have to work on getting Graem into some summer camps.

The coordination of all of this seems nearly impossible. Not to mention, I have to figure out - at the end of the day - with camps, daycare, transporation, fancy clothes - how much I'm actually going to take home!

God knows we can't operate at a loss!!!

Update on the job search.

I submitted a resume a few weeks ago for a part-time administrative assistant job but I have yet to hear back. The job sounded ideal.

Work from a home office, part-time, benefits, and flexible hours. Plus, it was affiliated with Cornell.

I'm pretty sure they had tons of over-qualified applicants - but I was expecting to hear something.

Ugh....got to love living in Ithaca and a small college town.

Long time, no post!

SORRY!

I've been getting my ass kicked with sick kids and partner! Then there's myself.

I was down and out because I had to have my gallbladder out. I got a pretty bad staph infection that I think I got at our local shitty hospital. Ugh.

Now I'm on the mend and I think that the kids are starting to feel better too.

I promise to blog more!
